There’s something powerful about childhood that often gets missed in traditional photography. Not the posed smiles. Not the perfectly arranged portraits.
But the real moments in between – when kids are laughing, exploring, creating, imagining, and simply being themselves. That’s what inspired the Kids at Play Project by PhotoArtGraphy.
What Is the Kids at Play Project?
The Kids at Play Project is a limited, application-based photography experience designed to capture children and teens in their natural environment. Instead of formal posing or stiff direction, these sessions focus on candid, real-life moments – where personality shows up naturally.
Each session is relaxed, unhurried, and built around allowing kids to feel comfortable being themselves. Whether it’s at your home, in your yard, or at a nearby outdoor location, the goal is simple:
Capture who your child truly is – not just how they look.
Who This Is For
This project is designed for families who value:
- natural, candid photography
- authentic expressions over posed perfection
- meaningful documentation of childhood
- a relaxed, pressure-free experience
Children and teens of all personalities are welcome – whether they are energetic, shy, creative, quiet, or full of curiosity. Every child has their own way of expressing themselves. This project is about honoring that.
What’s Included for Selected Families
Families selected for the Kids at Play Project receive:
- A candid photography session at your home or nearby outdoor location
- A relaxed, guided experience with no pressure to pose
- 10 complimentary digital images
- The option to purchase additional favorites if desired
Because this is a limited project, only a small number of families are selected to ensure each session remains personal and intentional.
Why I Created This Project
As a photographer with over 30 years of experience, I’ve learned something important: The most meaningful images rarely come from posing. They come from moments where children forget the camera is even there.
When kids feel safe, relaxed, and free to be themselves, their true personality naturally comes through. That’s what makes an image powerful – not perfection, but authenticity. The Kids at Play Project was created to celebrate those moments.
Where Sessions Take Place
Sessions are available in:
- Southern York County, Pennsylvania
- Northern Maryland (including Carroll, Baltimore, and Harford counties)
Locations may include:
- your home (indoors with natural light or outdoors)
- nearby parks or open spaces
- other comfortable environments where your child feels at ease
Limited Availability
To keep this experience intentional and personal, the Kids at Play Project is offered to a limited number of families at a time. Applications are reviewed individually, and selected families are contacted to schedule their session.

Why This Matters
Childhood doesn’t stay still for long. The way your child laughs, thinks, plays, and expresses themselves today will change faster than we expect.
This project is about preserving those moments – not as staged memories, but as real ones.
Let’s capture something real.
Let’s build something lasting.
