Hands-On Photography Workshops for Teens (Ages 12–19)
PhotoArtGraphy Teen Photography Workshops give teens ages 12–19 the chance to explore photography in a creative, hands-on environment. Under the guidance of professional photographer Drew Jensen, teens learn technical skills, artistic techniques, and the confidence to capture professional-quality images.
Based in New Freedom, Pennsylvania, Drew regularly serves Southern York County, PA, and northern Carroll, Baltimore, and Harford counties in Maryland – and is available to travel to other locations for workshops tailored to each participant’s goals.
Meet Your Instructor: Drew Jensen
Teen Photography Workshops are personally taught by PhotoArtGraphy owner Drew Jensen. I’m a photographer and creative professional with more than 30 years of photography experience and three decades of experience working with and instructing middle school and high school students.
I’m also a husband and father of three young adult sons. My wife is a schoolteacher, and we live in New Freedom, Pennsylvania, just minutes from I-83 and the Maryland state line.
My teaching style is relaxed, upbeat, encouraging, and hands-on. I want teens to feel comfortable asking questions, experimenting, making mistakes, and discovering what they can create rather than feeling as though they are sitting through another classroom lecture.
I offer one-on-one instruction at a family’s home or another agreed-upon location within a reasonable driving distance. Workshops may also be held at my home in New Freedom when my wife is home. When several young people in the same general area are interested in similar instruction, small-group workshops may also be arranged.

What Teens Will Learn
Our teen photography workshops cover a wide range of essential skills:

One-on-One or Small Group Instruction
PhotoArtGraphy offers workshops in both one-on-one and small group settings to provide personalized guidance and feedback, a supportive and encouraging environment, and flexible scheduling to fit teen routines. Workshops are scheduled based on interest and availability. Small group sessions and one-on-one workshops are offered on flexible dates, including evenings and weekends.
This approach ensures that every participant receives the attention and instruction they need to develop their skills effectively.
Workshop Location & Parent Information
One-on-one photography workshops can take place at your home, outdoors, or at another mutually agreed-upon location where hands-on photography instruction works well. Workshops may also be held at my home in New Freedom, Pennsylvania, when my wife is home.
Parents are always welcome to remain nearby during instruction. My goal is for both teens and their families to feel comfortable with the workshop arrangement from the very beginning.
For families who prefer instruction at their own home or another location, travel within 10 miles of New Freedom, PA is available for a small fee. Locations beyond 10 miles can also be arranged at a reasonable mileage-based rate.
Workshops are scheduled based on interest and availability, including evenings and weekends, so sessions can often be arranged around school, sports, dance, and other activities.

- One-on-One Workshop: Personalized instruction with hands-on guidance.
- Price: $150 per 90-minute session
- Small Group Workshop: Up to 3 participants, providing peer interaction and collaborative learning.
- Price: $120 per teen for a 90-minute session
Travel & Location Details:
- Workshops are hosted in a comfortable private home in New Freedom, PA.
- Optional travel to your home or another location is available:
- Within 10 miles: $20 flat fee
- Beyond 10 miles: $1 per mile round trip
- Sessions are scheduled based on interest and availability, including evenings and weekends to fit busy teen schedules.
Each workshop includes hands-on shooting experience, guided instruction, and the opportunity to create portfolio-worthy images. Small group workshops require a minimum number of participants. If minimum enrollment is not met, participants may choose to transfer to another session or upgrade to a one-on-one workshop. Spots are limited to ensure personalized attention for every participant.
