Confidence, Posing, and Modeling Skills for Teens (Ages 12–19)
PhotoArtGraphy Teen Modeling & Posing Workshops are designed for teens ages 12–19 who want to become more comfortable and confident in front of the camera, improve their posing skills, and explore creative self-expression through photography.
Under the guidance of photographer and creative instructor Drew Jensen, participants learn how posture, movement, facial expression, body positioning, and confidence all work together to create natural, expressive photographs.
These workshops are appropriate for teens who are simply interested in becoming more comfortable in photographs as well as those who are exploring modeling, acting, performance, dance, social media content, or other camera-based creative interests.
Based in New Freedom, Pennsylvania, PhotoArtGraphy regularly serves Southern York County, PA, and nearby areas of northern Carroll, Baltimore, and Harford counties in Maryland.
Meet Your Instructor: Drew Jensen
Teen Modeling & Posing Workshops are personally taught by PhotoArtGraphy owner Drew Jensen. I’m a photographer and creative professional with more than 30 years of photography experience and three decades of experience working with and instructing middle school and high school students.
I’m also a husband and father of three young adult sons. My wife is a schoolteacher, and we live in New Freedom, Pennsylvania, just minutes from I-83 and the Maryland state line.
My teaching style is relaxed, upbeat, encouraging, and hands-on. I want teens to feel comfortable experimenting, asking questions, trying different poses and expressions, and gradually discovering what feels natural rather than feeling pressured to “perform” for the camera.
I offer one-on-one instruction at a family’s home, outdoors, or at another agreed-upon location within a reasonable driving distance. Workshops may also be held at my home in New Freedom when my wife is home. When several young people in the same general area are interested in similar instruction, small-group workshops may also be arranged.

What Teens Will Learn
Teen Modeling & Posing Workshops focus on practical skills that can help participants look and feel more natural in front of a camera.
Topics may include:
- Posing techniques for portraits, fashion-inspired photography, and creative photo shoots
- Understanding posture, angles, body positioning, and balance
- Using facial expressions naturally and intentionally
- Creating movement and flow instead of relying only on static poses
- Learning what to do with hands, arms, shoulders, and feet in photographs
- Transitioning naturally from one pose to another
- Understanding how clothing, location, lighting, and camera angle affect a photograph
- Building confidence and becoming more comfortable being photographed
The emphasis is not on trying to make every participant look the same. Instead, teens are encouraged to discover posing, movement, expressions, and creative choices that fit their own personality.
More Than “Model Training”
A teen does not need to be pursuing professional modeling to benefit from these workshops.
The same skills can be useful for senior portraits, dance photography, acting and audition photos, social media content, performance promotion, portfolio images, or simply becoming more confident whenever a camera is present.
Some participants may be interested in exploring modeling more seriously, while others simply want to stop feeling awkward when someone takes their picture. Instruction is adapted to the participant rather than forcing everyone into the same style or expectations.
PhotoArtGraphy is not a modeling agency and does not promise modeling jobs, representation, auditions, or professional modeling opportunities. These workshops focus on posing, camera confidence, creative expression, and practical experience in front of the camera.
One-on-One or Small Group Instruction
One-on-one workshops allow instruction to be tailored closely to a teen’s comfort level, personality, interests, and goals.
For some participants, that may mean learning basic posture and posing. Others may want to work on expressive movement, fashion-style poses, senior portrait posing, dance-inspired imagery, or more advanced camera presence.
Small-group workshops may also be offered when two or more teens in the same general area are interested in similar instruction. Families are welcome to inquire individually – you do not need to organize a complete group before contacting PhotoArtGraphy.
The goal in either format is to keep the experience relaxed, positive, age-appropriate, and encouraging.
Workshop Location & Parent Information
One-on-one modeling and posing workshops can take place at your home, outdoors, or at another mutually agreed-upon location that works well for hands-on photography and posing instruction. Workshops may also take place at my home in New Freedom, Pennsylvania, when my wife is home.
Parents are always welcome to remain nearby during instruction. My goal is for both teens and their families to feel comfortable with the workshop arrangement from the very beginning.
Instruction involving minors is kept age-appropriate and focused on posture, expression, movement, confidence, photography, and creative presentation.
For families who prefer instruction at their home or another location, travel within 10 miles of New Freedom, PA is available for a small fee. Locations beyond 10 miles can also be arranged at a reasonable mileage-based rate.
Workshops are scheduled based on interest and availability, including evenings and weekends.

I understand what photographers are looking for, but I also understand that many people – especially teens – initially feel unsure about what to do with their hands, where to look, how to stand, or how to move naturally. These workshops are designed to remove some of that uncertainty.
Rather than memorizing a collection of rigid poses, participants learn principles they can use again and again: posture, angles, expression, movement, body awareness, and how to respond naturally to direction from a photographer.
The goal is not perfection. The goal is confidence, creativity, and becoming more comfortable expressing yourself in front of a camera.
Teen Modeling & Posing Workshop Pricing & Travel
PhotoArtGraphy offers flexible workshop options designed to provide personalized, hands-on instruction:
Workshop Options & Pricing
- One-on-One Workshop: Personalized instruction in posing, camera confidence, movement, and creative expression.
- Price: $150 per 90-minute session
- Small Group Workshop: Up to 3 teens learning and practicing together in a supportive environment.
- Price: $120 per teen for a 90-minute session
Travel & Location Details:
- Workshops may take place at your home, outdoors, another agreed-upon location, or at my New Freedom home when my wife is present.
- Optional travel is available:
- Within 10 miles of New Freedom: $20 flat fee
- Beyond 10 miles: $1 per mile round trip
- Scheduling is flexible, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate school, sports, dance, and other activities.
Each workshop includes guided posing instruction, real-time feedback, hands-on photography experience, and the opportunity to practice a variety of expressions, poses, and movement.
Small-group workshops are scheduled when sufficient interest exists. If a group session cannot be formed, families may choose a future small-group opportunity or a one-on-one workshop.
Spots are intentionally limited so every participant receives individual attention.
